The ESRB, the Entertainment Software Ratings Board, has approved a revised version of RockStar’s most controversial, Manhunt. Instead of an “AO for Adults Only” rating, which games of the rating can not be played on consoles, the revised game got an “M for Mature” rating, which is allowed for play on gaming consoles.
Rockstar has announced that a reworked version of its controversial Manhunt 2 has been granted an M rating by the ESRB. Free of the shackles of its original AO classification, the game is currently scheduled for release in the US on Wii, PS2 and PSP this Halloween, October 31.
Sam Houser, founder and executive producer of Rockstar Games noted of the decision, “Manhunt 2 is important to us, and we’re glad it can finally be appreciated as a gaming experience”. He continued, “We love the horror genre. Manhunt 2 is a powerful piece of interactive story telling that is a unique video game experience. We think horror fans will love it.”
In its original guise, Manhunt 2 was granted an AO rating by the ESRB, meaning that neither Sony or Nintendo would permit the game to appear on its consoles. Meanwhile, Rockstar is currently appealing the British Board of Film Classification’s decision to refuse certification for the game in the UK, effectively banning it from sale in the country.
Rockstar’s UK PR team were unable to comment on the status of the appeal, nor whether we can expect this reworked version of Manhunt 2 to be resubmitted to the BBFC in the near future.

R.O.B., the Robotic Operating Buddy from the NES days, has returned! Oh No. He’s returned with a bomb!

The Ancient Minister is the leader of the Primids, the Evil Hat people below.

The goal of the Primids is to “cut apart the world and carry it into Subspace.” They do so using Subspace Bombs.

If you can’t stop the bomb, it will take the stadium and bring it into Subspace.
Here’s a video of the Subspace Army
Phoenix Wright is a truly awesome game. If you haven’t played any game in the series, you MUST play it. Great characters, the greatest storyline, and the touch screen makes it one of the best games for the DS. Phoenix Wright is a new rookie defense lawyer. Find contradictions in testimonies, investigate for evidence, and examine everything every possible way. With characters like Maya and Mia Fey, Detective Gumshoe, and Miles Edgeworth , make this game a must buy for any Nintendo DS owner.
A-; Get it now. If you think this game might not appeal to you, rent it, and see what you think.
PS: I have played Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney- Justice for All, and soon, I’ll be playing Gyakuten Saiban 3 (Trials and Tribulations) imported from Japan. Japan versions of the game do have an English translation in the game, so you can get the games even earlier than America. The next game review of Justice for All will be out in a month or two.
Nikkei Business, a Japan publication, reported that WiiWare games, launching in early 2008, are expected to sell for $10 or less each. This is good news, since no one would like to pay $20 for a downloaded game.

Peach is back. Not that big of an announcement, but good for the Toadstool Princess’s fans. Here’s the quote from the Smash Bros. DOJO:
The princess of the Mushroom Kingdom, Peach is once again joining the battle! She’ll do what she has to, even when she’s all dressed up.
She can silence both Mario and Bowser with her floating jumps and Toad defense. This is no time to get kidnapped.
I’ll update you when her Final Smash comes out.
PS: It’s a slow news week, so I’ll be posting the daily updates from Smash Bros.

The Pokemon trainer from Pokemon Red and Blue (more specifically FireRed and LeafGreen), will be featured as a character in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, being released December 3 on Wii. Pokemon Trainer can use a Squirtle, Ivysaur, or Charizard to battle indirectly against other characters. You can switch Pokemon in the middle of a Brawl.
Stay tuned to Gaming Central for more on daily updates on Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

Nintendo just released a few preview videos for Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, now available for download on WiiWare on the Wii Shopping Channel. It’s not much, and I just deleted it. However, if you are a hardcore Metroid fan, definitely check it out.
